November 2008

The cowboy slipped me this note during his classroom observation.

My heart melts every time I read it. I love that boy.

I took a really, really long walk in Baltimore yesterday.

Clone Trooper Hat finished 10/08

I used a basic earflap hat construction and rigged the math (yes… I did math) to work with the repeats of the charts. I lined the inside with fleece for extra softness and warmth.

Charts found here.

I think that this has been the best weekend I have had in a very, very long time. Thanks to all of my friends and folks who are hanging in theer with me… I love you all!

AMEN!

D and I watched, as most of the rest of the world did. The cowboy watched with us. the waterworks started when my Maryland was called for Obama. They did not stop until I went to bed at 2:00 am.

This feels like a new day in Washington, DC. A day that my baby will ( thankfully ) never uinderstand the struggle behind. My son will grow up thinking that anybody can become anything they want. That focus and determination will get you where you want to go. That race and gender are not the gatekeepers to freedom. That millions of people can carry one man with great ideals to the finish line… $5.00 at a time.

I am proud, today, to be one in that million. I am proud of my country and the choice we have made together. I have not been able to say that for a very long time.

Today, I am proud to be a member of the fabric that strengthens this nation. I am ready to keep my nose to the grindstone.

“Fired UP?” check… fired up!

“Ready to go?” READY TO GO!
