I have conflicting feelings about posting about the too personal on my blog. Even though this blog started here in 2004, a full 2 years before I was C*EYE*BER Fiber Yarns, I struggle with the business/personal relationship to my blog.
I feel, though, that my convictions are strong on this matter. If you do not care to hear about the upcoming presidential elections… just skip this post and come back later. I won’t mind.
I publicly support Barak Obama for president. His message is clear, concise, and strikes me at my gut. There is a lot of work to be done here, in our country. From healthcare to the environment to our rising national debt to education for all children… we have a ton of work to do. I believe that this is the person who will set us on the road to righting ourselves as one nation.
It is slightly sad for me that Hillary did not gain my confidence. I was keeping tabs on her camp for so long…and hoping that she would stay the course. I was ALL FOR the first Clinton… but I fear Hillary can not bring about the change needed.
There is a very eloquent post written here, By Carol. I was so inspired by her candor that I chose to do something. You all will be finding out about that something very, very soon!
I was also inspired by this. If you are also inspired and want to learn more about grassroots fund raising for Obama…. check this out.Â
I want to end this post by saying how proud I am of the Democratic party…. our nominee will either be a woman or an African-American. How far we have come, friends. Finally, we are coming to a point in the party where we see it is the best person for the job.
I am shivering with the possibilities and humbled to be a part of the process.

It’s funny that you posted this. I personally am not a huge political person, however, I do exercise my right to vote when it comes to presidential elections. I had thought I would vote for Halliry for quite awhile as well, however, like you, I do not feel she can quite do the job either. The jury is still out there for me though as who has my final vote.

While I am not American and thus won’t be casting a vote in the election, it is heartening to see that the Clinton/Obama candidacy is not breaking down on gender/race lines. People actually appear to be voting for who they think is best for the job, gender and race irrelevant! Yeah!

Hi, Mama E! What a joy it was to see you Saturday afternoon!
And yes, a wee bit of your gorgeous pinky merino/tencel sock yarn demanded to be wound into a yummy bit of cake-love and came home with me. =)
Warm hugs to you!

Yes that is pretty much how I came down too. I WANTED to love Hillary but I think we need someone with no ties to the past, or very few, at least none compared to more Bushes and Clintons and republicans. I will check out the Ravelry link.

How funny! I just did a yarn-related Obama post myself. Thanks for all the great links!
