That is about how far the cowboy went in ArtFibers. What a store. I dream of a store like that. Luxury milled yarns hand-dyed by them….. sigh!

Phil got frisky with some of the ladies…

He loves a strong woman!

Here he is choosing my yarns. We went with the chocolate brown colorway.

Boy… do I love this child. He is rambunctious SPIRITED, willful EXPRESSIVE, and kind. Truly, truly kind. That is such a great photo.. it really captures his soul.

Thanks Jody!

So… I am settling back into life. And taking a week off from yarn-related business stuff. I want to knit and enjoy my craft for a week.

I am knitting a little diddy right now that I call the cowboy cable sox. I am making the pattern up as I go along and so far so good. He picked out some Shelridge Farm yarn at MDSW and asked me to buy it for him. He actually knit a row with me tonight. He may be a fiber artist yet!

What else? Why can I not resist watching this movie WHENEVER it is on television? What is wrong with me? And, someone please tell me that Mrs. Threadgood and Idgy is the same person? I am daft I tell you.

I have one complaint today. I got my Interweave in the mass of mail that was on hold for vacation and it was beaten to shreads…freakin’ mangled by my friends at the US post. Bastards! I may go buy another copy because it is really badly torn. I saw a pattern for my seasilk that I am going to cast on ASAP. Rock on Amy! (There are some GREAT great patterns from Kate Gilbert and Veronik Avery, too)
Umm…. Speaking of Amy… did you all SEE who is sailing to ALASKA with me and Patricia??? Go check it out friends! Bookings for SeaSocks 2008 start May 13th!!

That is just a few short days AWAY! I am so psyched… there are other sea-crets (oh I am sooo funny) about the cruise too. All in good time. All in good time.

Ok… pictures and Cruisin: Part Deux soon. And a contest this week. It has been some time since I got my contest on!

Oh boy. I am one tired Mama!

But… here are some glimpses of the first part of the cruise.

Here are my friends: LadyLungDoc , Michelle (aka: Mistress of the Sweet Sheep), and none other than that Knittin’ Mom extraordinaire, Chrissy Gardiner. I miss them all! It was great to get a little face time with your virtual (or imaginary: as D calls them) friends.

This would be a picture of the cowboy who took it upon himself to draw “tattoos wike you mommy!” on his little body/face at the kids Ocean Adventure program. I can not blame them. I know he is quick with a marker. Thank god it was washable.

dbacks0056.JPG

Looky Here! Miss PinkAcrylique herself! Wearing these!!

dbacks0055.JPG

That would be the first yarn I ever dyed! I knit those for her in Sockpalooza3 ! It was so great to see them again on their recipient!

Meet Phil. Do you recognize him? Maybe he made the journey with a friend from Albuquerque?

barryphil.JPG

Yup. That is Barry! Barry’s mom is this lady. Noelle kindly brought Barry’s cousin Phil over from Europe (SERIOUSLY!) to live in Maryland.

Of course… as a new adoptive mother… I had to show Phil the sights!

More of the BIG adventures of SEASOCKS IN SAN FRANCISCO and yarn p*rn tomorrow!

seattleneedle0001.JPG
Makes me sigh.

I am in the home stretch of one incredible journey. There was family, planes, ships, buses, rental cars (my current car is a PT Cruiser convertible), knitters, and YARN!

Some amazingly cool people came to sail the high seas and get their knit on (SHOP on!)

I am exhausted. I am in a beautiful hotel in Seattle… and I am happy. I wish I could formulate thoughts… but, alas, I am done with thinking for the moment.

I bought some incredible yarn! Handmaiden cashmere, silk, socks, seawool… I am stocked. I walked far and wide to find BOTH yarn shops in Victoria (BEE HIVE… my love for you will never die!) Beehive is enough to make a woman up and move to BC.

Back to Baltimore tomorrow. Sleep in a luxurious hotel is just what the doctor ordered.

Pictures when I return!
