A woman at the airport in Seattle was amazed by my toe-up socks and was chatting with me, telling me how she’d never seen that, and had only ever done cuff down… oh and it was her first pair too. She told me that the yarn she used was stretchy (and sounded synthetic) so I handed her a small (tiny) ball of hand dyed merino I’d cut off the end of the first finished sock, to enlighten her.
It was a tiny pay-it-forward. But it made me happy to do it. And she was pleased.
