My dearest friend Fiona,
I am so very touched by the gift that you and Amie sent to Me and Mama-E.
I feel the need to paraphrase the card enclosed in the gift:
Joy,
When I came to live with Amie, someone sent a huge box of new fibers so we could play together. To “pay it forward”, she and I are giving you:
- blue Ashland Bay wool
- natural linen
- beige cotton
- white Suri Alpaca
- Brown QIVIUT
Love,
Fiona
OH, FIONA! I am so incredibly honored to receive such a generous gift. The time we spend together will benefit Mama-E’s spinning skills, and more importantly, her spirit.
Fiona, even though we have not known each other long, we are kindred in spirit. I promise that I will pay this kindness forward many, many times in honor of our friendship and in honor of keeping the craft alive and well.
Much love and friendship!
Namaste,
Wendy Joy
PS:
Mama-E chimes in… this week…. knitters and spinners… in honor of the craft and the teachers…lets “PAY IT FORWARD”. I want you to randomly select someone in your cyber-fiber village and send them some fiber love. Bust a piece of your stash and mail it off to someone with a kind note.
I will…. and you never know…. you might be getting something from me. Leave me a comment when you do….. I want to see the ripples in the water.
Let the kindness commence!
PPS:
Love you Spin Diva!

Oooo….Qiviut! Lucky!
I love your idea of “Pay it forward.” I think I already know someone I can send something to!

Hmm…I already have an idea of what I can send but not who to. There aren’t many knitters I connect with online.
My husband was just “admiring” my stash last night…and I really do think I could afford to Pay it Forward!

What a wonderful idea. And no, I wasn’t ONLY thinking about sending all of my crappy yarn over to the local family center… that’s kind of like sliding it over rather than paying it forward. Hee. Anyway, I’ll read through some blogs and see what kinds of projects people are wanting to undertake and what kinds of tools, materials, etc. I might be able to send on. Also, on a cruise note. IF one is unable to actually go on the ship but would like to meet up with you on shore will you be having any planned excursions? If so do you know where and when they might be? I dont’ know if I can swing being away for a week, but I could drive up to Vancouver/Victoria, etc. fairly easily. I do so want to meet you, Eunny and everybody else.

Fiona neglected to mention polwarth, angora, and arapawa…
I’m so pleased you’re happy with her little gift!
Love you, too! SO much!

I LOVE your idea of Pay It Forward…I can already think of a few things I’d love to send people.

I paid it forward in person yesterday–sock yarn and a pattern to my new friend Bonnie (aka Phunkyknitter.com) and yarn for a shawl to the Yarn Harlot from Susie (aka http://toknitperchancetodream.net/) and me. It feels great!
