Beauregarde. As in Violet Beauregarde from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
“Violet! You’re turning violet, Violet!”
June 18th, 2006 at 5:33 pm
I think “Amethyst.” She’s a jewel of a yarn, or maybe “Jewel?”
Hmmmm, the possibilities are endless. I don’t expect another skein of yarn, just wanted to throw a couple of names in the hat to help a Mama out!

Thoughts:
Roman Holiday (I don’t know why)
Independance (since numerous countries celebrate their Independance Days in July)
Royal Flush (purple being the color of royalty)
Grape Scott! (because I’m so darn punny)
Simon’s Socks (because Simon likes to do his Draw-rings with a purple crayon… which brings me to…)
Crayon
or
Mountain’s Majesty
That’s all I got. I need a nap now.

I just stuck “purple” into a thesaurus website and it came up with “violaceous” - I like it!
I also thought you could call it “Donny.” Does anyone besides me remember back in the 70’s when Donny Osmond always wore purple socks?
“Grapes of Wrath”
“Purple Mountains Magesty”
“Purple People Eater”
btw… it’s beautiful!

June 18th, 2006 at 7:04 pm

June 18th, 2006 at 7:35 pm
It totally reminds me of my favorite flower which was the first flower my boyfriend ever gave me and it was a purple and blue orchid, so although it is really plain I would name it “sweet orchid” but whatever you name it, sign me up for a skein!
