Mama Rambles on…OH! And a Winner!
Posted by mamae under C*EYE*BER Fibers , Sappy Ramblings , Uncategorized , vacationsHey everybody? I am back in Charm City (again? go ask the SOAP TURTLE where that is!).
I had a very nice jaunt up to the Tri-State?.( I was in all 3 states ,you know!)
We visited my mother(s), and brother(s) and sister. A few rough nights?of sleep (the cowboy was VERY excited to see his family after such a long time). But? It was a wonderful mini-family vacation. Going home is always so nice for me.
We went to the Sculpture Garden at Pepsi World HQ?.. it is really a beautiful place. The cowboy got to run around under the Caulder Giraffes feed some HUGE Carp and KOI ( I was informed that only the brightly colored fish are called KOI. The brown ones are CARP). He got to play with his neenie and my sister BIRD. (Yes? she has red hair? and yes that is a colorway named after her).
Think that I am in love with him?

or him??? Here are my boys chasing each other around a sculpture…

My baby sister looking at a totem….

I love these fish… they were HUGE! I think they look like wise old men. I am going to have to do more with KOI.
Here is an AMAZING stand of trees …. very MAY PS! I thought of you , Lolly!
After the Pepsi venture, we?had a nice lunch in Rye, NY. We did not get to Rye Playland (the training facility for the NY Rangers is there and the last scene from the movie BIG was shot there.)
A fantastic trip? the cowboy was even great in the car. I got to knit a swatch (yes..I said a swatch) for my new concept of log cabin triangles.( I will post pics soon.)
Now? the moment you have all been waiting for?.

?
And the winner is?.(*drumroll*)

Go say hi!!! Another contest soon?? I wish I could blanket you all in my yarn!!!!

I forgot how big NY is. Looking at your pictures made me want to take a trip with my own little one (little being relative, she’s 5 1/2 and as tall as an 8 year old). I figured, hey, my little sis is in NY (an hour and a half away) we could make it a family trip. Low and behold Purchase is 6 and a half hours away. Looks like we’ll have to do some over night planning.

What a fun day out, thank you for sharing the pictures. The carp/koi (whatever) are really weird in a cool way with their mouths open like that. Your dad would be happy that you all went there… I’m sure he was watching the cowboy. Congratulations to Sandy on the yarn. Hooray for Mama-E’s yarn!
