I am almost to the June -Bug PS finish line. I am so close to done with the girls for the sock clubbers. Here she is if you havent seen her.
?
I usually get a little wonky after a large run… especially if it is the same colorway. I like her… I keep meaning to save a skein for me.. but I never do.
I keep thinking that there are two types of artists… you know the debate… process or product. I am so about the process. Don’t get me wrong…. I need the product to be visually appealing and well crafted. There is just something about the process of this dyeing that quiets my pretty over-active brain.
I have mentioned that I studied fine arts. I loved my studio time. Me, a big piece of paper with a hefty tooth to it, some charcoal or conte’ crayon, and a boom box. (Yes… we all had boom boxes.) I could spend hours on the thing. At the beginning of the session it felt like the piece was fuzzy and out of focus. With each stroke, each line, each addition and each subraction, my vision would start to clear. And eventually, there would be the moment that you knew it was done. You felt it was done. Instinctually, you knew you had finished whatever you started.
This whole fiber arts road that I am on is really fufilling that need in me. The need to tie myself to something bigger. Creating really is my joy. I forgot that for awhile. I am glad I am remembering now.
So, the Project Spectrum thing. I am so glad my girl Lolly?had the idea. I figure my participation is in the yarn dyeing… I am having a hard time with the keeping up with knitting in the color.? Well, I am having a hard time in keeping up with a lot these days.
I am blue… but in the best of all possible ways. There is a mound of blue yarn waiting to make it’s way to you all….
OH! Speaking of that! I am doing the last run of June Bug tomorrow for the?Sock Club. ?PLEASE let me know if ANYONE wants a single skein of her. I can slip it into the run easily. I am going away for the weekend and want to be set before?I head to Connecticut.
